Stadium
Seating Solutions
In the
late 1990's SSE received a U.S. patent for its
structural steel stadium seating platform system.
Designed to be compliant with all seismic zone, building
department and ADA criteria, the SSE Steel Stadium
Seating Solution is the most flexible and adaptable
stadium platform solution on the market today.
In 2002 SSE expanded its stadium seating platform
options with the addition of the most economical stadium
seating systems on the market today. SSE offers several
EPS Foam Stadium Seating Systems depending on the
location of the project and the specific requirements of
design architect. Today more than 95% of SSE's
customers select one of the SSE EPS Foam Stadium Seating
Solutions due to their unprecedented Economy,
Flexibility and Speed/Ease of Installation.
The SSE EPS Solution is...
Innovative Use of Material - The
SSE EPS Foam Stadium Seating Solution is the result of
an innovative use of a fill material that has been used
in construction for more than forty years.
Lightweight and Strong - SSE EPS Foam has a very
high strength to density ratio and is extremely
lightweight at approximately 1 pound per cubic foot.
Easily Molded or Cut - Unlike other materials EPS
Foam can easily be molded or cut in an arc or custom
shape depending upon the preference of the owner.
Easy to Install - Easily installed by the general
contractor, the EPS foam fill is brought into the
auditorium in precut blocks and attached to the existing
floor and subsequent layers by means of a special EPS
adhesive. Reinforcing steel, 16 gage riser plates and
connecting hardware are then installed prior to pouring
the concrete platform.
Cost Effective and Simple - The SSE EPS Foam
Stadium Seating Solution is the most straightforward and
cost effective solution for stadium seating platforms in
the industry.
Fast to Install - Stadium Seating Platforms can
be installed and ready for concrete and finishes by the
general contractor in 1 - 2 days per auditorium.
Simple
Installation
Procedures...
Day One

Structural EPS Foam
The precut EPS Blocks are
installed into the auditoriums after all the walls are
constructed and the high work on the ceilings has been
completed. Each of the blocks come pre-numbered from
the manufacturer corresponding to the Shop Drawings
provided by SSE. The blocks are assembled according to
the drawings and secured by means of a non-solvent based
adhesive provided by the installing contractor

Steel
Riser Plate
Once the EPS Blocks are in place
and secured, the prefabricated 16 Gage Steel Riser Plate
in put into position. Like the EPS blocks, each of the
steel components come pre-numbered from the manufacturer
corresponding to the SSE Shop Drawings.

Connecting
Hardware
The final
step in the installation of the SSE System prior to
pouring the concrete topping slab is the attachment of
the connecting hardware and intermediate step forms.
Each of the system Retainer Straps, Intermediate Step
Forms and Connector Plates is secured to the riser plate
by means of self tapping screws. This final attachment
procedure secures each row of riser plate to the walls
and other levels of riser plate assuring a straight and
strong assembly in preparation for the pouring the
concrete topping slab.
Day Two
Concrete
Topping Slab
On the
second day of the installation the concrete
subcontractor will come in a pump the concrete topping
slab over the EPS Block and Steel System as well as into
the intermediate step forms. The SSE Riser Plate serves
as a screed for the concrete pour. Once the concrete
pour is complete and it has cured to a sufficient
degree, the Riser Plate and Step Forms will be painted
by the installing contractor prior to the installation
of the seating.

Complete
Installation
This
photo shows the complete installation including the
seats, lighting, handrails and acoustic panels. This
series of photos shows an installation using floor
mounted seats. The SSE System can also be used with
riser mounted seats however a heavier gage of steel is
used and typically the riser plate is held away from the
EPS by 4" to accommodate the installation of a seat
bracket encased in a vertical 4" concrete pour. |
